Profile

Alhaji Dr Osmanu Ibrahim is an accomplished educator and lecturer with twenty-seven years of professional experience. He is currently serving as a lecturer of French at Mount Mary College of Education in Somanya. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in French, obtained from the University of Cape Coast in 2024, with a specialisation in African French Literature and Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE). His advanced academic foundation also includes a Master of Philosophy in French from the University of Ghana, earned in 2013, and a Bachelor of Arts in French and English from the University of Cape Coast, completed in 2008, following the completion of his secondary education at Hohoe EP Senior High School. Dr Ibrahim initiated his teaching career by earning his professional teaching certificate at the then Mount Mary Training College, Somanya, subsequently accumulating diverse institutional experience. He taught at Bishop Sarpong L/A JHS in Agogoosu in the Ashanti Region from 1999 to 2002 before pursuing further studies. He later taught at Peki Senior High Technical School between 2008 and 2013. Throughout his career, he has continuously refined his content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and instructional expertise through targeted professional development programmes, workshops, seminars, conferences and congresses in Ghana and France. Since joining Mount Mary College in 2013, he has served the college in several capacities, including Academic Affairs Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Head of French Department, and Deputy Quality Assurance Officer.
