REVISED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSIONS INTO COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN GHANA
SSCE Holders:
i. Six(6) Passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and
ii. At least three (3) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.
WASSCE Holders:
i. Six (6) Passes (A1-C6) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and
ii. A minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization
By this review, the requirement for access course for SSSCE/WASSCE holders who could not obtain credit passes (A-D / A1 – C6) respectively in core English Language and Core Mathematics, as previously required is abolished.
The NCTE/NAB will monitor the effects of implementation of the reviewed minimum requirements to inform future decisions.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
Mount Mary College of Education runs the Four-Year Bachelor of Education in Primary and Junior High School (JHS) Education. The Bachelor of Education in the Colleges of Education in Ghana is an eight (8) semester programme.
