Assistant Lecturer, French Unit, Department of Languages
Dangbuie Mawuko Kwami serves as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of French at Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya, a position he has held since December 2021. He brings to this role twenty-three years of teaching experience across the basic, secondary, and tertiary levels of the Ghanaian education system.
He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Département de Français, Faculty of Arts, University of Cape Coast. His doctoral thesis, «Procédés discursifs dans le discours du Président Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo lors de la pandémie du COVID-19,» undertakes a discourse-analytic study of metaphor, deictic markers, and pathos in presidential crisis communication, drawing on Benveniste’s enunciation theory, Amossy’s argumentation theory, and Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis framework. He has presented papers at conferences, which include:

Mr. Dangbuie holds a Master of Philosophy in French from the University of Education, Winneba (2019), with a research focus on the morphosyntactic treatment of the discontinuous morpheme «ne…que» in French as a Foreign Language instruction, and a Bachelor of Education in French from the same institution (2011). He additionally holds two certifications from the Centre International d’Études Pédagogiques, Sèvres, France: the Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (DALF C2) and the Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF B2).
Prior to his appointment at Mount Mary College of Education, he was a member of the faculty at Awudome Senior High School, Tsito, for ten years, and taught at the Junior High School level for eight years, delivering instruction in French, English, Music, and Mathematics. He has served as both facilitator and participant in numerous professional development programmes on French pedagogy, organised in collaboration with CREF-Accra, GAFT, and the Embassy of France in Ghana.
Mr. Dangbuie’s scholarly interests lie in discourse analysis, applied linguistics, and French language pedagogy within the Ghanaian higher education context.
