Richard Koranteng Akpanglo-Nartey is an Assistant Lecturer in Science Education at the Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya. He holds an M.Phil (Science Education) degree from the University of Education, Winneba.
Richard Koranteng Akpanglo-Nartey was born on the 6th of December, 1972, in Accra. He attended the Accra New Town 7 Primary School and then the Kotobabi 7 Middle School. After his Middle School, he started his secondary education at Benkum Secondary School, Larteh, but wrote his ‘O’ Levels at Anum Secondary School, both in the Eastern Region. He did his ‘A’ Levels at the Tema Secondary School. He obtained his first degree from the University of Education, Winneba in 2005 and an M. Phil in Science Education from the same university in 2008. During his M. Phil studies, he was appointed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Department of Science Education. After graduation, he taught Integrated Science at the Simbrofo D/A Basic School in the Gomoa West District prior to his transfer to Mount Mary College in 2009.
In 2010, he was appointed the Assessment Officer of the college, a position he held till 2015. Then in 2015, he was appointed the Head of the Science Department and the coordinator of the General Programme which he held till 2017. He was also appointed as the first subject lead for the Department of Mathematics, Science and ICT in 2019 at the onset of the new curriculum of the colleges of education. Mr Akpanglo-Nartey was once again appointed as the Assessment/Academic Affairs Officer for the college between 2023 – 2026 academic years. He is currently a Ph.D student of the University of Education, Winneba.
